What to mix w/unflavored unjury protein powder

Recommended Posts

Any suggestions? I tried mixing it with grape juice and it has a weird smell to it. It doesn't taste too much different, but I think the smell is grossing me out.

And how should I mix it? In a blender with ice? I just stirred it with a spoon...maybe that's the problem...

I know the website said SF drinks, so maybe I'll try SF kool aid next.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Funny you mention the of smell with grape juice, i just noticed that when I used cran grape sf sitick--I won't be doing that again. By far my favorite is with raspberry lemonade crystal light. Next lemonade works well and I have tried it with Benefiber citrus stick packs and that is ok as well.

The unflavored can be added to Soup, sf hot cocoa and mashed cauliflower as well. You do need to temper it by adding a mall amount of warm, (not hot) liquid to it and stirring it into a paste. then slowly adding the other warm ingredients--just watch that temp so it isn't too hot or it gets all gross.

You can add it to almost anything, add it to Jello when making it. Add to choc pudding when making it. Or add to diluted cream Soups. I am still on liquids post op so that is why I suggest those.

My favorite is with the Weyers SF raspberry or lemonade. Stay away from the crystal light white grape doesn't mix good but the other crystal lights are good too.

What is a good brand of the unflavored Protein to purchase? Can you get it at GNC?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
