You look great!!! I could only hope that I could nearly that good. I will have my surgery on 10/18 at Emory Midtown in Atlanta. Dr. Srinivasan is my surgeon. Being older might make a difference in how it goes. But I'm trying to be positive. Keep up the good work! You are an example and an incentive for the rest of us!! God bless. PitPat

Anyone using Emory? Or one of their doctors? If so, I would love to hear from you.

Congrats to you :smile2: Me like an idiot, I took my before pics in a black shirt and jeans. I think it hid some of the creases that have disappeared the last month.

For me, I cant believe how many people that tell me how much different my face looks. It went from puffy to now a hint of cheekbone lol. Im excited to see whats going to happen when I drop the 100.

Thanks so much, everyone!

As far as "secrets", well, the only secret was my liquid diet. It kinda sucks, but not as much as it did pre-op! I'm on liquids until next Monday, when I start mushies.

I expect things to change once I start eating, and until I get to the proper fill. But in the meantime, this is really fun!

Day 3 post-op was the worst in terms of pain and swelling, after that the recovery seemed to pick right up.

Good luck to all of you who are about to be banded, and congrats to all of you who already have. Thanks again for your kind words!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
