marykb 0 Posted October 12, 2010 I was talking to my Dr. about how often I should come in, after the first year of monthly visits. According to her, over 90% of the people they've operated on don't go back after they reach their goal weight. If you've reached your goal already, are you still seeing your surgeon periodically for check ups or anything?
Mariasha 3 Posted October 12, 2010 Not at goal yet, but my surgeon recommends an annual checkup.

Humming Bird 275 Posted October 12, 2010 Not at goal here, but I don't go every month either. They all do it different.
L12 13 Posted October 12, 2010 I last saw my doctor in July. I had exceeded my weight loss goal at that time, and he OK'd me losing more if I wanted. We scheduled the next appointment for July 2011, unless I have problems or need a fill before that.

Jachut 487 Posted October 12, 2010 Definitely, I go back once or twice a year. I've had top up fills and now I need an unfill for another surgery, I will go in in a week or two to discuss it - whether they want to unfill me all at once, or take me down gradually over the next month, what I can expect, how I should manage things, when I can be refilled. I want my mind put at rest over this, although truth be told, I think I will be absolutely fine with no fill. But that's what my doc is for, and I dont feel that just because I'm at goal I can forget I have a lapband inside me, I want it there, healthy and sound and part of that is keeping on top of things like regular check ups.
