zeniada 9 Posted October 11, 2010 (edited) Does it work? That depends on what its supposed to do... Why do you need it?? Its supposed to (I think) shrink your pouch back to the size it was after surgery..... I read that some people lose weight with it as well... But then again I dont think I need to "shrink" my pouch since I am only 8 weeks post op.... But the losing weight thing sounds good.... I need a fill bad but cant have one till the 21st so I am doing anything I can to lose some more lbs so I wont be so discouraged... Mariasha 3 Posted October 12, 2010 No need to shrink your pouch if you haven't stretched it. If you're doing everything you should be doing I see no reason for this 5 day pouch test.
MollyRN 28 Posted October 12, 2010 Zeniada....I feel your frustration.... I totally do. Do you belong to any support groups? I see that you had your surgery in Mexico - do you have a good fill doctor now?

I see that you had your surgery in Mexico - do you have a good fill doctor now? I will be going back to Mexico for my fills since I live so close to there....I have not found a support group I can go to here in my area, You have to be a patient of Medical Group of the Doctor or something like that... at least the one's I have found here in San Diego. I would really like to go to a support group but cant find one....
elcee 3,341 Posted October 12, 2010 It's just another diet. You shouldn't need to do this.
zeniada 9 Posted October 12, 2010 It's just another diet. You shouldn't need to do this. So are you saying once I get my fill I should start losing again??? I sure hope so cuz even though I havent gained it's getting discouraging not seeing the scale move down...
Manda87 3 Posted October 12, 2010 So are you saying once I get my fill I should start losing again??? I sure hope so cuz even though I havent gained it's getting discouraging not seeing the scale move down... Will this be your first fill? Remember the importance of exercise. It will speed up your weight loss.
MLBL 2 Posted October 12, 2010 The band doesn't work without the fills. It really will start working once you get some restriction. Welcome to Bandster Hell.
sdelllano 0 Posted October 12, 2010 So are you saying once I get my fill I should start losing again??? I sure hope so cuz even though I havent gained it's getting discouraging not seeing the scale move down... Please remember our band is a tool, not something we have done and never make any changes. We have to work with it and not against it. i have 2cc in my band (get my 2nd fill the 22nd of Oct) and go about 4 hours between meals, but i still drink my Protein shakes in between meals especially when it is my time of the month and tend to be hungry more. Exercise is an important part of this as well, once you feel well enough to start doing something and you have been cleared go for it, just take it easy. Take it one day at a time, we didn't gain weight over night, and we certainly won't lose it over night but we now have our "new friend" that can help us get to where we want to be. Keep your head up and keep working at it.
Manda87 3 Posted October 12, 2010 The band doesn't work without the fills. It really will start working once you get some restriction. Welcome to Bandster Hell. It can work without fills. I knew a lady that didn't get a fill. She had the original Fluid from surgery, but didn't get another fill. That's rare, but it can be done.
