Getting Bummed Out...

Recommended Posts

Take your measurements now.. and then again in a few weeks. You might be compacting and not realize it. Even though the scale is barely moving, sometimes our bodies are reshaping.

Exercise is also good.

Hang in there.. the graph of my weight-loss looks like rick-rack.. but overall it's downhill.

This is so true...I have hovered around the same weight (gaining/losing) overall, I am still down, but the weight loss is so slow. I have some bad habits creeping in, but I am able to counteract them with lots of exercise so the net effect is still positive. I think part of me believes that if I maintain for a bit while exercising that it will help with the whole skin issue...I'm probably just rationalizing my bad eating behavior though! Believe me, I know I have lots of work to do on better control of my eating. I did just want to share, however, that about 2 weeks ago, I was a little bummed that VERY few people had commented on my weight loss (I have afterall lost a good chunk since my I started my pre-op diet!). All of the sudden, this week, I have had 5 people say something to me about my weightloss!!! It's about time :). I do need to point out also that no one knows about my surgery, either, so it's not like anyone was "waiting" for it...haha, just me.

I go for 3rd fill on Monday....soooo excited for that one. I was too tight on my 2nd fill and had to have some removed. I've got a good feeling that even just putting in the amount they removed will get me to a good place. I'm hosting a dinner party on Saturday night after my fill...I'm a little worried about being able to eat everything that is prepared (it's a mystery chef thing), which I know I could do now, but I will get through it...I'm NOT putting my fill off for anything :)

Hi:

This is my first post I just joined and couldn't find a way to make a new post so I am glad I found this.

I did my surgery on 9/27 I was at 232 but gained 17 pounds during the surgery day

I had my 1st post op no-fill, on 10/8 and I was at 222.

Now I am on semi solids, the Dr. said to keep the intake at 1200 calories/ day and this is my challenge

I am not hungry and I dont consume a lot of food I still do the Protein shakes and just added tuna, cream of wheat and Soups.< /p>

I take around 780/ 850 calories a day I have no cravings but I noticed that I am not loosing weight anymore in the contrary I am gaining like any where between 0.5 to 0.6/ lbs a day.

And I am wondering if it is a repeat of whatever was going on before the surgery.

Anyone went through that I would really appreciate any help. I totally understand the frustration you are going through I feel bumped too, I hiked for 35 minutes last night and I still gained

Cheers to all of you and I know we will all get there at different speeds it is just too new for me

Thank you:thumbup:

Try very hard to get your calories to at least 1k especially if you are exercising. When I first started I felt like I was eatting all the time, was walking about a mile every other day and was gaining weight (and I dont mean just muscle). So I sat down for a week and tracked my calories. I was only eatting about 400-600 calories a day and was burning off almost that on my walking days so my body shut down and went into starvation mode which even though I was exercising killed my metabolism.

Remember you can HAVE calories now, so dont keep yourself on a diet espeically if you are excerising. If you are not then you still need to watch the calories a bit but try really hard to get it above 1k and you will see it really start to drop.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
