Renee~ You are in my prayers. Check in and let us know how you are doing!

I think we stay together as December bandsters and don't move to the post op section until January?!

Sal~ You are in my prayers, too. Hang in there!

I am wrapping up loose ends to be ready to go Thursday AM. My surgery is scheduled for 8:45. :D

Thanks for all of the good wishes! I am getting nervous about tomorrow - not nervous in a bad way but nervous in that I can't wait to get this done!! The nurse I talked to this afternoon told me to get a good night's sleep and I was thinking "not very likely". LOL

Hi everyone! Thanks for all of ur prayers and support, everything went great and I'm finally banded! Right now I'm feeling fine, still in the hospital until tomorrow afternoon. After surgery I was a lil queezy from the meds but not really any pain at all....only had one dose of pain meds since recovery. Glad its over but I really worried myself for no reason at all! I will post more when I get out of here, saying lots of prayers for all of u!

Why did they end up keeping you? i thought it was in and out in one day??? the queesy part is what i worry about, i remember when i had my gall bladder out years ago and i threw up non stop and was sooo sick, pain didn t bother me but being sick to my stomach did...Im glad all went well

Thanks! My doc keeps everyone in the hopsital for one night so I will be out later this morning. I think I would have been fine to go home yesterday tho. The queeziness I felt right after surgery and they gave me meds for that and have felt fine since.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
