Good morning all! It is so reassuring to see other people describe the exact same feelings or emotions!

I posted yesterday, and went to my first wls support group last night. Good insight, and from the other folks there and the Doctor, I learned that absolutely I am still tired/drained/exhausted. Body is recovering from major surgery and affects of anesthesia are powerful and long lasting. Also, not enough protien! Protien is the bodies fuel-- but for now what it fuels is recovery.

So I am working on those ideas today! Mind feels better this AM. Will keep u all posted!

Tracy

For me the fatigue lasted months, but I expected fatigue as I have fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. The nice thing is that it does get better.

Hang in there.

I was banded on the 6th also, and about the 5th day I started feeling like myself and haven't looked back. The Dr and dietitian gave me a menu to eat EVERY HOUR. I thought that was a mistake, but after checking with them they said it is correct. Something like, Protein Shakes, 4 a day, (4-6 oz), sf Jello, broth, diluted cream Soup, decaff teas, popsicles, ff sf choc pudding, 'soupy' cream of wheat or oatmeal, Crystal light, ff sf yogurt. I think that is why my energy returned quickly. I've been going for walks and that helps. Don't forget to drink lots of Water. It helps. Good luck.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
