Need good but not too expensive indoor/outdoor clothes for exercise

Recommended Posts

I am currently walking in regular cotton pants and usually wear a cotton jacket. When is drizzles or rains, I can't walk because I be so weighed down and feel miserable that it isn't worth it. So I am asking for suggestions on decent outdoor walking pants and jacket that do not cost a fortune. Anyone have any ideas?

And what about indoor clothes for a gym? I hate wearing a t-shirt but what optios does a big girl have? I have been to all the big dept. sites and everything is not my size or $70 for pants. Yikes!!!

Old Navy has nice outfits at reasonable prices. You could also try Lane Bryant, Fashion bug & Target.

You could also wear plain pants/top and spice it up with a nice jacket.

Try SierraTradingPost.com for closeout athletic wear and casual clothing. I have had good luck at outlet stores such as Nike, Adidas, Izod and The North Face..I do not always have luck finding XL, but I have found some good items. I like to layer.

I've found wonderful things at the second hand stores in town. Got to search a bit for larger sizes, but they can be found.

Or can you or are you willing to learn to sew? Pants are the easiest things in the world to make.

Good luck!

Both Lands End and LL Bean have Waterproof/Resistant outerwear and I believe they carry plus sizes.

Columbia and Champion have great workout clothes. Target carries Champion. I went online about a year ago and found 1/2 doz pants and 1/2 doz capris at around $7/pr. Check out the clearance on Target.com.

Just had a thought that LLBean has outlet stores where you can get some good deals. If you have one near by check it out to see what outer wear they have in stock. Also Marshalls/ TJ Maxx has a Active wear section which can have expensive work out gear at reasonable prices.

I was recentlu in JCPenny and I was surprised at the variety of exercise clothes they had and how good the prices are. Many were on sale at the time.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
