I got banded a week ago today!!! It was a tough and stressful week. I had the worst pain for several days. All the pain I have left is the sharp pain in my left side when I breath deep and the left side shoulder/neck pain. The lump in my throat comes and goes. I still get extremely exhausted doing things around the house or even walking. I am getting at least 11oz. of my shake in finally!! And I had 4 cups of Water today  Stepped on my scale and I'm 12.7lbs lighter than the day of surgery. I'm still starving for food, but I usually have a little Soup and it tides me over for awhile. But between the water and the shake I'm not able to get anything else down. I know I'm not getting near enough Protein, but I don't know what else to do. I could never finish another shake...

:thumbup:Today is day 7 for me too. I am having the same pain when you take a deep breath. They say it will go away shortly. I am sorry you aRE starving. Sip lots of tasty liquid. Lots of Jello flavors. Crystal light. Try not to think of what you are missing, but what you are losing. How much do you weight today? When i see that scale drop a part of a pound, my hunger flys away.

Be happy sweetie, we will vent to each other every day if you want. -debi

I'm really not thinking about the food I could have really. I've been cooking for my husband and really haven't been wanting to eat his food. We went to the Olive Garden and I had the chicken gnocchi Soup broth  that was like my first yummy thing and I licked the garlic salt of the remaining breadsticks. After that night I didn't miss food all that much... I knew my life was going to change and I know it will be a matter of time before I can get more yummy food. I'm ready for my mushies .... bring it on

Have you considered using the Protein Shots to get more Protein? They are 2.9 oz with 25 g. protein. It might help you have more energy and will also keep hunger at bay. You can take them temporarily, until you are able to drink more fluids. Hope it helps.

I bought some of those at costco and there is something about them that upset my tummy. I sipped on one for awhile and I could feel it not agreeing. I need to find the receipt so I can take them back. But thank you for the suggestion

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
