Well, I'm off to Vegas...

... to get married!

Life is good. I had another flouroscopy this week, and my band still looks great. I had another fill, and am up to 1.6 CC now (in a 4 CC band). I still don't have much restriction, but I have a little, and it feels good.

And yes, I'm getting married this Saturday, in the absolute geekiest of ALL weddings. Rather than just tell you, I'll let y'all guess what we're doing  Just remember, it doesn't get much geekier than this!

Oh, I'll post a picture of the rings =) I'm very proud of them -- we had them custom made by a shop in Ireland!

Peace,

Jonathan

Congratulations on both the marriage and the good band news. And to think just a few short weeks ago, you were so disappointed. Aren't things wonderful once everything starts going right? Couldn't happen to a nice guy.

The rings are gorgeous!

Happy Holidays

Cindy

How lovely. I live near Vegas and almost got married there, but we'd already put a lot of $$ into our wedding. The geekiest I've seen is being married by an Elvis impersonator.

This is even geekier, I promise :D

Are you getting married at that Star Trek thing? My wife calls my Trek fandom geeky. I just think it's cool!

Ding ding ding! =) We'll be getting married on the bridge of the Starship Enterprise =) (1701-D, for anyone who knows the difference between the generation of ships.)

Yes, it's geeky, and yes, I think it's cool too =) I guess that makes me ... a geek!

I hope you don't expect me to stay away! You gave the location and day. Do you realize how EASY it will be for me to show up in a flashing pecker bridal veil and argue that I'm the bride to be?

You want cheeseball, right? I'm your girl. So, where's the reception, and do you have a blow up sheep for the centerpiece yet?

*grin* If I had a blow up sheep, I wouldn't need to get married, would I?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
