Cherishthepast 20 Posted October 8, 2010 Find something that you LOVE:wub: I hate the whole gym thing and wasn't fond of walking... I bought an eliptical - still sitting in my family room gathering dust. Decided I had to find something to get my butt going and decided to take swimming lessons. I've always wanted to learn and decided to give it a try. I've met great people (very encouraging) through the classes. As a result, I was lured into taking boxing with a fellow classmate and we're having a ball. All this said, I found the key was finding something that I really enjoyed doing and have increased my activities as a result. Something as simple as gardening is a good start. YouGotBiggie 0 Posted October 8, 2010 I was just recently banded, (9/20) and I started last week at the gym walking on treadmill. I am going 5-6 times a week and am walking for 30min right now. I get really bored even thought I listen to music the whole time. I don't walk fast just about 3mph, so I usually walk 1.5 miles. I have started adding inclines and walked my whole 30 min yesterday at a 1% incline. After just 2 weeks of this I was at a JV Football game last night talking to some friends that hadn't seen me since my surgery and they commented about all the energy I seemed to have. I was basically just bouncing back and forth standing there. I Hadnt really noticed but I do seem to have tons more energy. I went to load my dish washer the other day and decided to just wash the dishes by hand cause I didn't want to go sit down. Someone told me once that if you ever get into a routine of going to the gym and start exercising then you find that you become addicted to it. I know that I don't have fun doing it but I do like the way a feel after wards.
