Sofia Bell 0 Posted March 23, 2011 Hi! Can't believe it's almost 3 years since we were banded. I've met my initial goal of 117 lbs. But, of course, I want to lose more. I'm pretty happy and have no regrets. Although there are times that I get the feeling that I'm over filled. Sometimes the couging can keep me up at night......but......it's the price I pay! I'm pretty happy and have no regrets. Although there are times that I get the feeling that I'm over filled. Sometimes the couging can keep me up at night......but......it's the price I pay! We all knew there was going to be a price. I had a fill last week and finally feel like I am back on track (after nearly a year of stale-mate and juggling the same 10-15 pounds up and down). Luckily, we have the tool we can always fall back on. Keep up the good work and congrats! Hope to see less of you soon! God Bless!

Onnie67 0 Posted May 17, 2011 I am checking in, boy have I missed the support...where to start.... the doc who did my surgery left 4 months after I was banded. The hospital gave me the name of another doc whom I have had dealings with and I really like, however...he is NO LONGER doing bands. He does do fills, and will check the band but he does not do support groups. There is NO LOCAL support. I figured, thats ok I got this under control! And, I did! for over 2 years...well, now...I don't know what is going on...I have gained back almost 20lbs of the weight I lost, and I had not gotten even close to my goal. So, I decided to start fresh...I am doing 3 days of liquids..then I am going to do 5 days of soft foods, and then my protein/veggies. I have noticed I can eat way more than I should. I am not following the rules about Portion Control. I have had soda the past 6 months (another bad habit) I was drinking 3 or 4 large sweet teas per day...not even getting close the eating the amount of Protein I need to eat. So, I am hoping that by going back to square 1...the liquids, I can break the other bad habits. Is anyone else struggling??? Tonya

I did gain through the holidays and took 2 months to get that back off.. now, I am trying to get back on track after minor surgery (not related to band) and trying to get back to exercise. I have found I tend to eat a lot of "sliders" which is not a good thing. I do not drink sodas, however, and I do drink my Protein shakes. I have to be really careful not to overdo the shakes or I will gain also. I am just glad I have the tool I need to get back on track when things like this happen (unlike pre-band when I would just go out and buy bigger clothes!)... Don't give up! I'm not! Hope to see "less of you" soon! Good luck and God Bless!
