Graymom2 0 Posted October 5, 2010 Hello all-my first time visiting lapbandtalk.com. Very excited about re-connecting with fellow banders. My surgery was 6 years ago in August. Went to a support group meeting last night for the first time in a VERY long time. It felt good.
annieM 2 Posted October 6, 2010 Wow, six years! How are you doing? Did you reach your goal? Any complications? You must have been one of the first ones to be banded in this country. Do tell all!
Graymom2 0 Posted October 6, 2010 Well I've been all over the place with my band. Up, down and everything in between. Initially I lost almost 100 pounds but I've gained, lost, gained many times during that six years. I've had my band replaced once because of a slip. I've really been struggling lately! I'm almost back up to my pre-surgery weight. Although, I've been seeing my doctor more regularly and am trying, again, to find the "perfect" adjustment. I tend to do so much better when I'm right on the line of being too tight. It's been quite a roller coaster. I'm starting an exercise class tonight so I'm hoping that will bring me back to reality.
annieM 2 Posted October 6, 2010 I'm sorry to hear you've had troubles. You are in the right place to get back on track! An exercise class is a terrific start. Then come the fill appointments. I too, do much better when I'm a bit too tight. The best of luck to you!
