tle5000 1 Posted October 3, 2010 Just wondering if the fill's hurt. I can find my port in the dark so the surgeron shouldn't have a hard time finding it since he put it in. I am also concern about rolling over in my sleep on it.
BetsyB 9 Posted October 3, 2010 Nah, they're no biggie. It's like getting any other injection--over before you know it.
Melissannde 41 Posted October 3, 2010 My first one was a tiny bit of an "OUCH" because I was still tender at the incision site. Since then they've been no big deal at all. I understand being apprehensive.. I was talking to pharmacists and everyone who would listen about something to numb the area before the fill. Numbing wasn't necessary & while like I said, it was tender, it wasn't bad. Of course this was quite a while ago as I was banded in March of 09 and as always, YMMV. Good Luck. KatieMT 0 Posted October 3, 2010 I had my first fill this last Wednesday. It didn't hurt at all. The sensation was a bit odd for me, but so is my daughter crawling all over my stomach and poking the port. lol I don't know that I'll get used to it, but it was certainly tolerable. AlienBandit 10 Posted October 4, 2010 even though I have had a ton of surgeries I am still a big baby when it comes to pain and needles. I used to get my doc to freeze my stomach with litocan before a fill because I thought it would hurt so much. One time he got me to try it without freezing and the fill actually felt better without freezing! It didn't hurt at all! Don't worry, it is as easy as pie
starletkt 0 Posted October 4, 2010 it isn't bad at all... i personally think the prodding to find it is the worst! my PA doesn't use fluoro or lidocaine and she pushes around, finds it, cleans the area and jabs! haha she makes you do a crunch too. it doesn't hurt, it is just an uncomfortable minute or two! msdeneen2004 0 Posted October 5, 2010 OMG, do not stress over this. I had my first fill TODAY, and like you I was nervous. It was over so quickly with no pain, I didn't even know my nurse was finished. You'll be fine. God Bless !!!
