Honestly when I stopped being a piggy and eating more Protein and doing shakes/smoothies. I did better. If your not losing and working ou you're probably not eating enough. With last fill I get alot more restriction. I get full fast and stay fill longer. Sometimes I slip and eat toouch junk food. I'm back running 3 dys per week which is a big help and I do zumba

I love Zumba, I do it at Curves 2 days a week and I even bought it for my wii.I have a Protein Shake everyday. I even have been eating about 1/2 cup since my last fill. So since my last fill I have tried not to wrok out so much, the Dr and the Nutrionist told me I was working out to much, Some days i would double up, We have a Fit Club here and we do Brazillian Butt Lift, Turbo Fire and a few other things, I even tried P90X didnt care for that,

Yeah u gotta slow down. I know u want it bad, I do as well but aggressive workouts work at first then body adjusts. If you work out that much probably not getting enough calories. If your working out 1 hr a day or even 2 hrs per day probably need 1500-1800 cals. Body has to have fuel to burn. If you only eating about 800-1000 cals pe day a hard workout will eat up about 600 of them or more then you're not left with enough gas to make it throughout day. Outside of workouts your body burns calories to carry out metabolic functions also you walking from here to there, chores errands etc. Your body will go in starvation mode to protect itself and do opposite of what u think.

Hi everyone.

I just visited a number of really cool blogs from people who have lost tons of weight after WLS they had years ago. In honor of Cinco De mayo today, they are opening up their blogs to people who are new to WLS (like us). Some are posting what they ate today and some what they typically eat. Others are also offering really cool recipes.

Here are some of the blogs I found, with their related hyperlink. Each blog is very different so don't just click on one. Try at least a few.

I hope you enjoy these blogs as much as I did. Maxi

Congratulations Lisa!!!!

I'm on my first long plateau. A month with no loss. But, to be honest, I'm not eating as clean and healthy as I could be and I'm not exercising, so it's pretty much all on me I think.

Oh Zen, you are so close to your goal, you are an inspiration. I have had several plateaus, of course it's harder the closer you get to your goal. I bet you look great.

I just finally broke through a plateau here too, about a month with no loss and then in the last few days, five pounds FINALLY whooshed off of my body thankfully.

I also think it has mostly to do with my food choices, not eating quite as healthy as I have in past months and it showed on the scale unfortunately. Back on track and Dr. check in this Friday, glad I at least have some loss to show for the last month. Not that I'd get any kind of huge lecture but I do feel like I let them down when I mess up, which I guess sounds odd but there it is. I think because I have done so well and they have been so thrilled with me at the office and are among by biggest cheerleaders, I hate sliding back into any bad habits.

Glad my Dr. is going to be adding in some psychological counseling into the practice, I believe I could benefit from it.

Well, my weight loss at first was pretty regular/quick. Then it really slowed down, partly due to my Thyroid medicine, which we changed the dosage a few months ago. My weight will go up and down by a couple or three pounds before staying a lower weight and then starting the up and down bit again. I weigh every day. Monday was 159.0, Tuesday was 156.0 and today was 159.0. WTF?? Water weight? I'm trying not to get frustrated, because I've actually done pretty well overall.

I had another fill (I think I've only had three) a couple weeks ago and it was the hardest one to handle. I still have a problem with almost feeling hungry all the time. I've slipped a little, but am not tooo worried, because if I eat a snack, it's not like putting my calories way out of what I should be eating.

It is hard, wanting to eat and eat. I know I can't, because I got the band for a purpose and I'm not going to waste everything I've been through.

P.S. My starting weight was 215 lbs.

Okay... Here I am again! Its only been...what??.. 4 months?? My goodness.. I am trying to catch up on all of the posts. I know in January, I didnt see much difference in myself after losing a little over 50 pounds.. but now that I have lost a little over 80 pounds.. I do see a difference.. I am HALF WAY THERE!! I used to think "How sad.. I am only half way there.." But I had to sit back and ask myself.. Really, with all the other attempts at weight loss.. when did I ever make it a QUARTER of the way there without getting defeated.. and its only been 8 months.. I have already passed the amount of weight that my surgeon predicted I would lose in the first year.. so I still have 4 months to really WOW him, and more importantly - MYSELF!!

Looking at everyones tickers on this thing.. You guys are doing FAAAAAAAAAAAAANTASTIC!!!!

no more jellybelly, wow that is a bummer about feeling hunger all the time, I wonder if your protien is high enough - and your Fiber too, calories too. especially if you are excercising, maybe make sure you have some good solid protien after a work out, like Jerky, or boiled egg or cheese, and have a protien and or fiber snack between Breakfast and lunch and lunch and dinner

So good to see how everyone is doing. I'm down 97lbs! I never thought it would be this successful. I really think the exercise has been the key. The only down side I've had is some gall bladder problems which caused nausea/vomiting which in turn led to my band slipping - not good! I had to have all my Fluid removed and we are waiting to see if it resolves on it's own. My follow-up appt. is 6/2, I can't wait because I'm so hungry! I haven't gained any weight since the fluid was removed but it has definitely been a struggle. Fingers crossed that it has resolved and won't have to have surgery to fix it and that I will once again be on my way to goal. I only have 20 more lbs to go! Have a safe and healthy Memorial Day weekend everyone!

Well, apparently I was holding on to a LOT of Water, because in 3 days after my fill (and the liquid diet that comes with it), I've lost almost 7 lbs. I weighed in at 175 this morning, which is 25 lbs from my goal weight of 150. Now that I'm this close, I'm thinking of edging my goal weight down to 140. We'll see where I end up I guess. It seems like once you reach a certain point that makes your body happy, it's probably not worth the struggle to go lower.

It feels so good to be back in my sweet spot! I forgot how different it feels to be full on so little food and to not get hungry. Love my band.

Sorry to hear about your slip, Chris! I hope it resolves itself and you don't have to have another surgery.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
