I am 6 months postop, always had really thick hair but did come out while brushing or messing with it. Now its falling out in Handfulls! I take my daily vit, calicum, fish oil and 3000mg of Biotin. My daily calories are around 1500 and easily get 100g of Protein a day. I am frustred with it and worried its going to keep getting worse...

I'm also 6 months post op and my hair looks absolutely awful!!! It was thin to begin with and now you can see my scalp.....I'm too young to be seeing my scalp. BUT, I have lost 70 lbs. so I guess I can live with the balding......as long as it's temporary (I hope). I do notice little short hairs...about an inch in length now - starting to pop up all over. If I pull my hair into a pony tail....my whole head looks fuzzy because the short hairs stick through. I can only hope it's on it's way back.....

That's called the "fuzzy chick" look, and yes, it generally means that your hair is coming back. Yeah for you!!

Also get your levels checked ask your doc. I was paranoid about the Hair loss and have a thin spot there before surgery. I have anemia and just found out my Vitamin D and B12 levels are extremely low. If I wouldnt have seen Dr. Oz and asked about D levels I wouldnt have known. I am taking Iron supplement with doc rec, B12 1000 mcg, Biotin 100mg and vit D and primary doc gonna monitor closely. So get with your regular doc I would say vs surgeon. I was taking Centrum adult chewables faithfully and that wasnt enough. So I urge u to get with your doc and ask him/her about it
