How long till you were able to lay down and on your side???

Recommended Posts

I'm 4 days post-op and last night was the first night sleeping laying down. I changed back and forth between back and side lying but it wasn't bad as long as it was my left side I was laying on. Tonight will be my first night back in my own bed so I'm hoping that'll go well. :smile2:

Hi Everyone, I was so relieved to find this tread I was beginning to think there was something wrong... I was banded on the 27th of September 2010 and I have to say its been an eye opener...!

I have been sleeping on my back since the operation and just as I started to get over the swelling, gas and generally feeling tired from the anaesthetic my back has now gone into spasm's. Don't get me wrong I am still determined and happy that I have gone through with the band but you do feel very isolated and frightened and reading everyone else’s experiences really helps. Now I know that within a week I will feel much better, there is a light at the end of the tunnel, thanks everyone..x

I slept in a sitting up position in bed w/alot of pillows. I didn't start laying on my said for almost 10 days. I just was paranoid about hurting anything. I am normally a stomach sleeper, but have not done that for the same reason.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
