Windus 0 Posted September 30, 2010 After only losing 4 lbs. last month it quickly made me realize that if I don't pay close attention to what I am doing every single day that it is not a good thing. I gave myself the excuse that I was busy with wedding planning but that is only an excuse. Oh, and yes, the day spent at the wedding fair tasting a bazillion different bakers wedding cake samples was definitely a bad idea. But, to be at my goal of being 100 lbs down by my wedding in March I am going to have to lose 2 lbs. a week, every week. Which is very doable if I just pay attention. I am glad to have this forum to be able to publicly post things and get support - I need to make sure I come here a lot more often than I did last month!
btrieger 21 Posted September 30, 2010 There's no such thing as a good excuse. Congrats on recognizing and correcting the issue early. There's nothing that can't be fixed but it's best not to let it get to the point of needing fixing.
emjay 8 Posted September 30, 2010 Wendy - Just a thought for you...to monitor your progress, try tracking simple things like your weight, exercise and food intake daily. It doesn't have to be elaborate. I've attached a Word document (the forum apparently doesn't like Excel) that's just a sample of what I do. I usually on track during the week, but it keeps me mindful of my progress and what I need to correct. I'm by no means a stellar bandster, but it does help to see the progress and see what works and what doesn't. You can also use Fitday or some other tracking website, I don't because I want something quick and easy. Good luck to you!! Journal.doc
vlp1968 83 Posted September 30, 2010 You sound ready to get on the fast track to weight loss. Good for you. If your not already, I would start an excersise program. It has made all the difference for me. Start off slow and gradually increase the intensity and/or duration. I agree with the above advice to track what you eat. I did it for the first 4 months or so. Then it became second nature and I stopped writing it down.
