I am about 7 weeks post op and just had my first fill a week ago. Prior to fill (4cc), I was doing great...but felt like I could eat anything/everything. Now with the fill, I am starting to see "signs" of being full...mainly, I get a bit queasy. If I sit back and wait a few minutes, I usually burp and feel better. However, yesterday, I never got that feeling and went straight to feeling like I needed to be sick. I tried to force the burp, but felt like I was making it worse. I was finally able to burp and felt 100% better...but

I am petrified of throwing up and slipping the band. How would I know if I slipped the band?

I have exactly the same experience with burping. As far as a slipped band, you all of sudden wouldn't be able to keep anything down, not even Water. It's more the vomiting with heaves and all that that cause a slip. Like if you get the flu.

According to my surgeon, it's just not that easy to slip your band but then he takes a fold of the stomach and sews it around the band. Ask your doc if he did this. If he did, then I wouldn't worry about it. My doc said it would take some serious long term regurgitating (as in bulimia) to slip the band.

Try taking smaller bites and chewing more. You might also take that tiny bite and swallow it in several increments.

thanks guys! Yeah, I do eat pretty slowly now...but I could also probably take even smaller bites.

I do believe she said she sewed into place...but I still got nervous.

I can handle the burping...it's the other that is scary...

again...THANKS!
