jmkjmk 0 Posted September 28, 2010 I had my lapband 10/09 and a port revision 12/10/09. I started passing bloodclots at my job and I have since had the band removed. I now have Crohn's Disease and I am deathly sick. Two doctor's told me that it must have been lying inactive in my system and the lapband brought it to life. Has anyone else had a similar incident? I am on a chemo drug and will be starting IV therapy to try to get my colon healed. I have huge ulcersin my colon.
nurse from ga 0 Posted September 28, 2010 I had my LAP-BAND® 10/09 and a port revision 12/10/09. I started passing bloodclots at my job and I have since had the band removed. I now have Crohn's Disease and I am deathly sick. Two doctor's told me that it must have been lying inactive in my system and the LAP-BAND® brought it to life. Has anyone else had a similar incident? I am on a chemo drug and will be starting IV therapy to try to get my colon healed. I have huge ulcersin my colon. Wow...Bless your heart. So sorry to hear about your troubles! I also have Crohn's disease as well as ulcerative colitis. I am in the phase of meeting the requirements for my insurance & hopefully will be having LAP-BAND surgery early next year. I've done some research-because it was a concern for me & my family whether or not I should have WLS since I have these issues already--but from what I've read, it doesn't seem like it's contra-indicated. Crohn's is no fun at all. It can be very debilitating to say the least--same goes for ulcerative colitis. Please keep me updated on how you are doing. You will certainly be in my prayers.
