Katy Castro 1 Posted September 28, 2010 Just remember that everyone loses at a different rate. I'm 16 weeks (3.5 months) post-op and down 72 lbs. At first I lost fast and now it's slowing down to an average of 2 to 3 lbs per week. I worked graveyard for a few weeks and that threw me off my game. Now that I'm no longer working I'm really glad to be back in the game (so to speak).

reverie 49 Posted September 28, 2010 (edited) Almost down 75lbs from May! Hoping to be really near my goal around the end of January. Don't let yourself get down. We all lose at different paces and people who have more to lose will often lose quicker, but in the end we're all working towards a goal. Keep your head up and you'll get there. Edited September 28, 2010 by reverie

emjay 8 Posted September 28, 2010 I've had a great journey to my goal. Not really any problems other than a short period of time of being too tight and learning my lesson. My weight loss was fairly slow and steady. I've learned that it's easier for me to drink a Protein shake for Breakfast in the morning and eat my first solid food for lunch. Then I enjoy a snack around 3:30 - 4:00 in the afternoon and eat dinner around 7:30 - 8:00pm. That way I don't get hungry before I go to bed and get the late night munchies. I'm a little tighter in the mornings, but can still eat a solid Breakfast if I have time or on the weekends. I'm not really hungry in the mornings, so this works the best for me. I try to limit my carbs, but do not really do low-carb anymore. And I still have my moments where I have crappy snack foods, but only occasionally on the weekends. Hubby and I exercise about 5-6 x/week when the weather is nice, otherwise I go to the "Y" and use the elliptical and strength machines. We walk, hike, bike...whatever...but try to do something active most days of the week. If you can, try and find a workout buddy or walking buddy to keep you motivated even when you don't feel like doing it. It really helps! Good luck!
vlp1968 83 Posted September 28, 2010 I have lost 117 pounds in 10 months- at my goal. Excersise has been key- when I stalled, I increased the intensity of the excersise and the scale started to move again. I also ate very low fat and low carb. Lot's of lean protien. You can do it! newstacy09 0 Posted September 30, 2010 Thanks everyone! I'm not one for exercise...which is why it is so slow I think. My husband and I own a child care business and many days we are both working 12 hours a day. So by the time I get home, I don't want to even move. A plus is that I have dropped 2 shirt sizes in my uniform shirt and a pant size too.
