ladybug on a mission 0 Posted September 27, 2010 Just when I think everything is set for my new mission - surgery date 10/8.....another bump in the road. Received a call today from my Patient Advocate that I need to bring $3500 to my pre-op appointment on Wednesday. Apparently, my insurance will cover everything but the surgeon fee. Don't take me wrong, I am grateful that my insurance is covering anything at all, but have no idea how to find $3500 by 7am Wednesday. UGH!!!!!!!
Esorami 2 Posted September 28, 2010 The first Dr I went to charges $7000.00 for his fee! I quickly found another Dr that I like much better and his fee is $1500.00. I could do it free, (no extra Dr fee) but that means I would have to drive out of town and by the time I made all those trips I would have spent just as much or more. Didn't your Dr tell u about his up front fee? I would search for another Dr that doesn't charge that much. Search and ask those that have been banded by him already. Good luck. Valerieee 0 Posted September 28, 2010 My surgeon charges a $4500 program fee. It's seemed ridiculous at first, but it includes many things. I get 1 on 1 sessions with a dietician and nutritionist, support groups, cooking classes, things of that sort. They should have let you know at the beginning of your process so you have time to gather some money. Good luck and let us know what happens!
