MN hotdish, anyone?

Recommended Posts

I was wondering (after the healing period of liquids and soft food) if hotdishes like that old MN favorite TaterTot Hotdish would go down well. Or is there no knowing until you try it?

How about ground beef in sauce?

Just trying to figure for when I get to that point. Making a plan, Man!

It's trial by error unfortunately. From my own experience fries are already out. And anything that I eat has to be sauced up. (All this without a fill mind you.)

I'm a bit concerned about what things I'll not be able to eat after getting my first fill. I know I'll have to take smaller bites and eat even slower than I do now, so I'm trying to prepare myself mentally for it.

Good luck to you!!!

I'm not familiar with the tatertot casserole you refer to - potatos can be tricky, but without a fill you probably won't have problems if you go carefully, chew well, and mix in other food textures. As long as you're chewing, sauce with hamburger shouldn't be a problem.

The bottom line is, though, you will have to see for yourself... :)

I love a good MN hotdish!!! Tater tot hot dish can be tricky. I find that if I cut up the tots really little and eat with a lot of the liquid stuff it works ok. I also eat mine with a ton of ketchup.< /p>

If you like meat sauce, make yourself a noodle-less lasagne.

Layer sauce with cooked ground meat (pork, beef or sausage) over layers of ricotta cheese and mozzarella cheese. Make 2-3 layers.

Bake like a lasagne. Easy to put down, and tasty too. I used a similar idea when I was on Atkins years ago.

Give it a shot, warms your innards! Tasty too.
