IVF is very hard. Each time I felt like I had ,in a sense, killed someone. Each time I had the perfect embryos, actually, my fertility clinic used the to teach first year embryologist. None the less they just didn't stick.

We will be using, probably, Gladney out of Dallas Tx. My husband is black and they have the ABC program. ABC is a program for black and biracial adoptions. That programs is also based on a sliding scale fee. So like for my husband and I, we make between 75,000-100,000 a year, our out of pocket would be around $11000. There is also an adoption agency where I live and they start at $15000.

Are ya'll thinking about adoption? It's scary but you can always message me or PM me!:smile2:

I've had pcos for about 15 years and its always been managed by birth control. I was a bit worried about going off of it for a month prior to surgery, but I had no issues and now I'm a over a month out of surgery and have had no pain. However I have not tried to get pregnant, but its one of the major reasons why I decided to do this surgery to help down the road.

We are going through the foster care system So it is 100% free. The state picks up bill. We also get a 13000 dollar tax credit for the adoption. This is not the reason we chose foster care adoption but it will help. The Children in foster care are older. Most of them above the age of 5 and they have trouble past will need some extra TLC. But I wan to be a Mom and maybe that doesn't mean a baby but I can still give a child a a forever home.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
