Almost 100lbs gone.

Recommended Posts

I am approaching a 100lb weight loss. My ultimate goal is 185lbs and I am right at 218 now that is down from 303 ore band. My all time top weight is 317lbs. So I was wondering should you Celebrate a 100lb weight loss and what have others done if you do or should you weight till you reach your goal ? Thanks Chuck

I definetely celebrated at 100 lbs...the feeling of accomplishment is phenominal and of course you want to scream out "Look at what I have done for myself"!! It took me a few days for the number on the scale to sink into my brain that yes indeed I had lost that much. WAY TO GO!!! CELEBRATE...you deserve it!!

I'm not sure what you mean by Celebrate but if you mean with chocolate cake and ice cream, it is never a good time.

I celebrate every morning that I wake up feeling great. I am reminded every single day of how much fun it wasn't, when I would strain myself and be out of breath just tying my shoes.

That being said, celebrate now, tomorrow and when you do hit 100 pounds lost.

Congrats!!!

My band is at 5cc's...the most was 5.9cc's. Everyone is different though, and feels restriction at different levels.

I hit 80 pounds lost today. 3 pounds to go until I'm in onederland (hopefully before the new year!), and then hoping to be joining you all in the "100 pounds lost" club, shortly thereafter!

Congrats, Chuck. My own son will start his journey in January, after he changes insurances. He is at about what you started at. I know that he would definitely celebrate 100 lbs lost. So yes, celebrate, but not with food! 100 lbs got me to goal. And I was and am happy, too! Karen (kll724)

PS: you look great!

I now realize that I celebrated my first 100 by joining a gym. I didn't think about it at the time, but the two coincide. :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
