SusieQ1104 0 Posted September 24, 2010 I was banded on 08/31/2010. For the past week I've noticed that my stomach growls between meals and I've also had painful stomach aches. As soon as I eat a couple of crackers, the pain goes away. Is this just something that I need to get used to? I was instructed not to snack between meals, but it's the only thing that takes the pain away.

I know that I could not go with out Snacks...

They can help you and should not scold you. I think usually what the bariatric professionals mean by "no snacking" is no junk food. Healthy Snacks, with controlled amounts of calories should be OK. I went through this early post-op, though mainly at night. I took a container of yogurt to bed with me and ate a spoonful when I woke up with hunger pains. I think you need to eat something with more Protein in them than crackers. How about a Light & crisp Wasa cracker with a wedge of light laughing cow cheese? A container (5 to 6oz) of low fat plain greek yogurt with 1/8 to 1/4 cup blueberries? A small to medium apple (organic if possible) with a weight watcher's string cheese stick. Try to keep the calories under 150 and the Protein high. And include the Snacks in your overall calorie count (if you are counting.. some don't. I do). Hope this helps.
