What are the most likes Shakes!!

Recommended Posts

I like the mocha latte Atkins shakes, I add one scoop of whey Protein because protein is really key to staying fuller longer.

I also do the whey protein (mine has 26 grams of protein in it) to 8 oz skim milk and add in Sugar Free Chocolate Syrup. The first couple of times of drinking the protein I thought I would never enjoy it...I do not mind it at all this way!!!

Sometimes for a change when I make it with skim milk I add in one serving of nescafe instant coffee (walmart 97 cents for a box of 8 I think) and slightly mix that in, enough to dissolve but no so much that the coffee taste is gone!

I have tried several ways, I prefer shaking it and not using the blender because the blender seems to magnify the whey protein. Just test different things you will be pleasantly surprised I think!

The mocha latte atkins advantage shakes have 16 then the whey Protein I add is another 26 grams so 42 total for one shake - can't beat that!

The best shakes I have found by far have been Protein in a Can. I found them at a health food store here in Lubbock, but I was at Target the other day, and they actually carry them too. They are wonderful! The Peanut Butter Cup flavor is the best. Plus, they are LOW in sugar, and have 35 g of protein in the can. I did the protein liquid diet for 12 days pre op and lost 20 pounds on these.

Personally I HATED Isopure. Made my mouth dry and phlegmy and tasted like butt. I think Unjury is the best(have to get online). I make it with skim plus in my Ninja(blender thing) and it gets kinda thick and the choco. one tastes like a malt. I don't like any of the vanilla ones cause they smell like baby formula to me. With the mix I do you get 36 grams of Protein and 210 calories.

I use IDS brand, banana and the chocolate flavor. I buy it online. I've tried several and this taste the best for me. You'll have to try several to see what works best for you. Hated both the Syntrax and the Unjury brands.

Love Love Love Muscle Milk Light in the chocolate Milk flavor and Chocolate Mint. I was at the Vitamin Shoppe the other day seeing if they could recommend anything that tasted as good as Muscle Milk just to try something different. Everyone in there pretty much agreed that the Muscle Milk/Muscle Milk Light tasted the best. I seriously would have nothing BUT Muscle Milk Light except for the fact that I have to eat SOME food haha!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
