Pinkygirl 34 Posted September 23, 2010 That's a good question! I'm curious also, I will hopefully be banded in December :smile2: ughhh how are you dealing with waiting "purple"?
purple3797 5 Posted September 23, 2010 I am so nervous about the whole procedure hoping I am doing the right thing that I go back and forth from excitement to pure fear LOL!!!:smile2:
hthsmom30 0 Posted September 23, 2010 My favorite is nectar Protein chocolate Truffle :smile2:
AngryBaby 2 Posted September 23, 2010 Many people like Isopure there are several flavors to choose from and has TONS of Protein in it, but I can't stand the texture of it and it makes my mouth feel super dry. Some people do the high protein SlimFast or Muscle Milk. I love Bariatric Advantage (vanilla flavored). It's a great foundation for my shakes (23 grams protein). I toss in some greak yogurt (10 grams protein), Peanut Butter (8 grams protein), and a banana (roughly 350 calories and 41 grams of protein). I usually only drink it in the morning since I can't eat anything solid and I need a good boost of calories so I can make it through my classes. Usually you can try out small samples of different Protein Shakes. Try everything you see, because you may be surprised about what you like.
MrsFitand42 0 Posted September 23, 2010 :wub:Atkins Advantage! Comes in 3 or 4 flavors and I like them all
Pinkygirl 34 Posted September 23, 2010 I'm nervous too! I can't imagine being knifed :smile2: that's what im mostly afraid of and that I won't be able to eat ANYTHING and always be sick I hope to a speedy recovery and no problems at all!
LapBandBobbi 8 Posted September 23, 2010 I bought chocolate, strawberry and vanilla and mixed them up together. Some days I would have a choc/strawberry and sometimes strawberry/vanilla. It was nice to have the variety. Then, depending on the type of ice you use, the thickness consistency is different too. Don't be afraid to experiement. Paigey 7 Posted September 23, 2010 Out of all the ones I've tried during my 2 week liquid diet, Carnation Instant Breakfast(no sugar added) is the best tasting. It doesn't have as much Protein, so I have to balance it out with Unjury.< /p>
kfields 0 Posted September 23, 2010 I heard that the Syntrax Nectar is good as well. Did you order yours online or were you able to find it at a local retailer? I hope to be banded in Oct or early Nov. I go for my EDG on 10/5. I had all my pre-op testing done today. I am so ready!!
hthsmom30 0 Posted September 23, 2010 I bought the sample pack of the nectar Protein online first and tried them. I found that the chocolate truffle and strawberry were the best to me. I bought the big jug of mix at The Vitamin Shoppe.< /p>
Alijacmom 0 Posted September 23, 2010 I am getting my band Oct. 18th. I have been trying different shakes and I thought Unjury chocolate was delicious. Has 20 grams of Protein and then another 8 if you use skim milk. Not gritty at all - very pleasant tasting..:smile2:
kfields 0 Posted September 23, 2010 I'm sorry..but what is Unjury? I can't find on the GNC or the Vitamin Shoppe website.
BetsyB 9 Posted September 23, 2010 I like Inspire Protein powder (Dutch chocolate, especially) from Bariatric Eating. I also like their PURE unflavored whey Protein isolate. The Pom Razz Sangria flavor of Inspire is good IF you mix it with much more liquid that the package recommends. (They say 4 oz. of water; I mix it in a liter bottle with a sleeve of Crystal Light lemonade.)
Paigey 7 Posted September 23, 2010 You have to buy it either on Amazon or the unjury website: www.unjury.com Even though I think most Protein shakes have a funky taste to them, I like the fact that one of the flavors from Unjury is chicken noodle Soup. It really helps you make it through the hard days of the liquid diet when you get sick to death of all those sweet shakes.< /p>
