tle5000 1 Posted September 22, 2010 Had my surgery on Sept 10, and Monday the Dr. took me off liquids and put me on pureed foods. He said run everything thru the blender for two weeks and go on to soft foods. I get my first fill in 3 weeks. Going to try some Wendy's chilli tonight in the blender. I purchased two taco's last night and took out the hamburger and cheese and put that into the blender with a little sauce. Tasted pretty good. It filled me up. I used to eat 5 or 6 whole taco's at a time. Those days are gone. I also did eggs in the blender yesterday for Breakfast and added a little lite sour cream. It was good. Gone are the days of eating breakfast out and having 4 eggs, toast, pancakes, bacon and ham. And 3 or 4 cups of coffee and orange juice.
honk 780 Posted September 22, 2010 In regards to sour cream with scrambled eggs I would suggest chive low fat cottage cheese instead. You would be getting the Protein from the cottage cheese. I don't know if sour cream really has much food value.

sara31 2 Posted September 22, 2010 I totally agree. The Portion Control is so exciting to me because I could eat so much before. I just read on another thread where a lady made a fake lasagna by just layering FF Ricotta, low fat Mozzerella and spaghetti sauce. It sounds SO good. But dont people have problems with melted cheese?

Nursecutie 0 Posted September 22, 2010 I'm on week 4 of Clear Liquids (including pre-op time) and at this point I would seriously even eat pureed liver and onions LOL
BetsyB 9 Posted September 22, 2010 Yep, those days are gone--but you will find that you appreciate the foods you do eat so much more. The flavors, the aromas, the sensation of being satisfied without being stuffed. Big changes--but all good :rolleyes2:

I made low-carb lasagna a couple weeks ago.. used zucchini sliced longways for the noodles. It was pretty good. Used 2% mozzarella and non fat cottage cheese (I don't care for Ricotta). Also put spinach & mushrooms in the lasagna. Kids ate it up.. even the DD who "doesn't like spinach" LOL
