Fertility Bracelet?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone ever used a fertility Bracelet? some say it's hooey others swear by it. I just purchased one-I figure it can't hurt. My DH and I have been trying for a while with no luck. Of course it doesn't help that my cycles have NEVER been normal. I can go months without a period and have tried bc but that just makes the whole cycle go wacko. I am doing alot of praying but found the site on etsy.com for Artsy Chicas fertility bracelets, so I figured why not? Anyway, just wanted to see if anyone else has heard of them.

I also just read about St. Gerard the patron saint of women who are struggling to conceive.

Yes, I have heard of them and considered getting one for myself..We tried over a year to get pregnant so at the end we were trying anything to get pregnant...We were put on fertility meds but what also helped us a lot was using OPK strips...not sure if your familiar with them but you can get 100 on ebay for about $5.00, you just pee on them and they tell you if your close to ovulation...I started about 7 days after my period started and used one everytime I went to the bathroom...then you get a good idea of when and if your ovulating...they are wonderful and highly recommended for anyone trying to get pregnant...also I highly recommend Pre-seed, it is a lubricant that helps semen get closer to your eggs..it is the only lubricant that is safe to use while trying to get pregnant..I tried it for 2 months and it worked!! If these things don't work I would suggest talking to your OB and asking if there is some medication you can take that will help you ovulate...I was on Femara, I had zero side effects and it was very simple to use and obviously worked...best of luck to you and I hope you get pregnant very soon!!!

I havent heard of them, but I did use sea bands when I was pregnany - they sat on pressure points on your wrist and really did ease my nausea. I've also had a complete cure from sciatica and a dead, heavy leg that I had for 2 entire years from acupuncture, and have just come through half of my chemoradiation with the aide of acupuncture WITHOUT vomiting, nausea or hairloss. I really believe there's real basis to these sorts of things and I also believe that the postiive mental attitute they help you to attain works miracles.

Good luck!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
