You don't mention how much you wanted to lose or your BMI. Truthfully, you need to decide how important being thinner is to you. I know that I'm never going to get to a BMI of 21 or 22 simply because I am not willing to do the work it would take to get there or maintain that kind of weight. I think you need to decide if you are willing to work out more (and more careful eating) or if you are happy with your weight loss.

Personally, I think it's great that you've been maintaining. It's something that scares me. I keep telling myself that it's more important to keep off the weight I've lost than to lose more. We've come so far on this journey, I don't want to go back.

Cindy has some very very good points.Maintenance is hard work, but Angel, you have been doing maintenance so you can easily figure out how many cals you have been eating and burning and then make very modest adjustments to start losing, IF that is what you decide to do. Being "thin" is not for everyone and if you are healthy and happy, stay where you are. The great thing about the band is that it is there for you whenever you want its help.

I congratulate you on your loss and maintenance and wish you well.

There's no way to answer your question, really, without knowing what your weight is, your goals are, and what you are willing to give up or do for additional loss.

You say you need to lose, but are okay with a maintain--which is it?

I personally will not be satisfied until I reach my goal. I didn't have surgery to sort-of succeed, or to do it halfway, or to learn to be satisfied with less than I want.

I exercise religiously, and haven't even given my sweet tooth a chance. It would get the better of me, too---so unless it's a birthday or holiday (or something that really is a once-in-a-blue-moon REAL treat--one that is worth it), sweets are just plain off-limits.

You may not be willing to make these changes--but maybe you're willing to modify them in a way that does promote loss.

Thanks. I do think i can lose more. Just need to be more strict with everything. Weight came off so easy at first. Even through i am still heavy this is the smallest i been since i can remember so kinda became okay with it. I do want to reach my goals, it will get take a lot longer than normal i guess. I do better when i am strict. Then there is no room to have anything sweet or not exercise.

I have been doing better this month. Been working out 4 times a week, which i had stopped. It is amazing how hard it is after stopping. I just need to keep it up. I feel so much better when i keep it up.

Starting wt 287- current 220-222.

I had a lot up and down putting it on so i guess i should accept a lot up and down taking it off.

Again thanks for responding, helpful hearing from others that know how hard it can be sometimes.

This is so true - how much work are you willing to do. I've gotten to a BMI of 22, but I personally would like to be even thinner - I know, I know, I'm nuts. I really dont NEED to be thinner, I really dont see how thin I am, its all body image stuff, not a need to lose weight.

But from a healthier mental perspective, I've never really tried because I know that I just dont want to have to do the work it would take to get and stay there. I can maintain this weight effortlessly. I grumble about a few lumps and bumps around the hips, but I dont care enough to really do anything about it.

There's nothing wrong with deciding that, but you CAN lose more if you really want to.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
