Mishay36 0 Posted September 19, 2010  So, I started my two week pre op liquid diet today. It consists of drinking two Medifast shakes per day and one meal under 500 calories. Other than that I can have calorie free beverages all day too. So far so good. I had the dutch chocolate for Breakfast. I mixed in the milk, a couple of teaspoons of sugar free French vanilla internaltional foods coffee and a little ice. I blended it with the hand blender. And it was good. For lunch I made the vanilla and tried milk, ice, a pack of splenda and a little coconut extract. Yummo! There was no after taste and it blended well. Now I have to decide on what to have for dinner. It can be 500 calories and Im leaning towards a salad with chicken breast on it. :-)

Cali Sal 0 Posted September 20, 2010 This does not sound like fun at all. I just got my surgery date of Oct 19th and all I was told was to lose 10lbs before the surgery and only clear foods starting 5pm the day before. I do have to call my nutritionist today though, maybe he'll put me on that diet then?

Does anyone know any way to season broth so that it doesnt get so old? I read a post from someone in a forum who adds one drop of buffalo hot sauce to chicken broth for a buffalo wing flavor and one drop of A-1 steak sauce to beef broth. I haven't tried it yet but she was raving about it. Worth a try.

Does anyone know any way to season broth so that it doesnt get so old? I stewed chicken for my family's meal and saved the broth. I stewed it with bell peppers and onions. I also stewed beef the same way, but added steak sauce. Hope this helps:smile:
