MRSKOUBiK 27 Posted September 21, 2010 I try only to let myself have it when out in public. It's working for the most part. I asked a co worker to STOP me from buying it during our morning trips to the Royal Farms! I have also used Excedrine in the past, when I gave it up. For those super bad head aches due to withdrawal. It helps because it has caffeine. for me, giving it up is still a work in progress. but, i'm not banded yet
Jess55 97 Posted September 21, 2010 Why exactly is carbonation not allowed? And is it going to be forever? just curious
stateofzen 46 Posted September 21, 2010 (edited) Why exactly is carbonation not allowed? And is it going to be forever? just curious My doc doesn't allow it, forever. I'm actually more disappointed in never ever having a beer again, but I figure I'll get over it  He said that there have been cases where carbonation has caused stomach tearing and band failure. He said it is rare but he doesn't want his patients taking the risk for something that you don't need nutritionally. He said even letting it go flat doesn't help because there is still carbonation present to do its thing in the small stomach pouch. I was resistant to the idea of no carbonation again before I talked to him, and he convinced me on that one. He did not, however, convince me to give up my one cup of caffeinated coffee a day. But I'll let him win in everything else. Edited September 21, 2010 by stateofzen spelling
Jess55 97 Posted September 21, 2010 I think the hard part about stopping soda is the fact that besides Water (usually only at the gym) and wyler's (bascially tha same as crystal light, but I like the taste better)raspberry flavor, it is the only thing I drink. I don't like ice tea, or stuff and I don't drink alcohol, yeah, so it will only leave 2 things I drink and basically only one, since I only drink plain water at the gym.
