Can eat almost anything!

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone!

It is me Zhanna!

I have been banded 1 month tomorrow. I am kinda dissapointed with my results since I lost about 12 pounds.

I can eat anything nowwith tiny restriction. Of course my portions are 1/2 smaller than I used to eat but I am afraid I am not loosing enough at this time. I am going for my first fill on Jan 7th.

Please let me know if it is normal.

Also what is good restriction in terms of portions. If you are able to eat chicken breast and some veggies for dinner or lunch is it alot?

Thank you for your help!

You are doing fine!

They say if you lose 10pounds per month than you are doing what you need to be doing.

Make sure you are getting in 70grams of Protein a day and walk.

You will still lose! just going to take a little longer.

If you haven't had a fill, it is totally normal to have no restriction. A month post-op, no restriction without a fill just means you are healing normally.

Good luck!

Sue

We are all different. I am 3 fills out now with 3cc in a 4cc band. I can still eat a sandwich. Red meat gives me to much trouble but everything else is fine. I have dropped 35lbs since August 12. I am losing better a lb a week the way I figure it. Lately I don't think I am but if Ilose 3/4 lb a week I can live with that cause it is going going gone you know.

BTW, I got unfilled a couple of weeks ago and, right now, I could eat a woolly (or "wolly," if you prefer) mammoth if I wanted.

So glad I'm not quite that insane.

Yet.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
