too tight or stress?

Recommended Posts

I have been banded since 5/20 and have had no problems really. PB'd once on a piece of chicken and had to "refund" a pill once too.

I had a small fill last wed and felt pretty snug but was able to get stuff down. fastforward to yesterday....i can get Water down but that is it! not even a proetin shake. I have pressure in my chest too....almost like right after surgery gas.

my hubby had surgery on tuesday and so I have been stressed and I am at that monthly time (started thursday). do you all think this is what it is? should I get a small unfill or see if it losens up? u have had good success so far and I don't want to sabatoge myself by being stubborn. thanks!

I am newly banded so really cant give you much advise but from reading all the post that I have so far I have heard that stress and TOM can make your band tighter. I will just have to wait and see what happens when it is my TOM... Good luck hope you feel better and that it gets loser on it's own with out an unfill.

I think the chest discomfort is the key - that was the first thing my doc asked about. As she withdrew the fill, she asked me to tell her when the chest pressure feeling stopped - turned out to be half a cc. That was 3 weeks ago, felt great for 1.5 weeks then my period arrived and I've been lucky to keep Water down ..... very over it at the moment!!

Tension for me seems to close the band like a steel door so it could all be mounting up for you - give your doc a call maybe? It's not fun when it gets like this.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
