Thanks for the chicken dance!

Recommended Posts

THANK YOU to whoever posted a few wks ago about doing the chicken dance to get lodged/stuck food to go down!

I went out to eat last week and took a big bite of bread without thinking (too busy talking). It was stuck! I wasn't sliming or anything, but I could feel it painfully sitting there. Normally if I shift around a little, it'll go down, but no luck. I excused myself, went into the restroom and put my hands under my armpits and started waving them like a chicken. Maybe 10 times later, I could feel it sliding down.

I couldn't believe it worked, but it did!

So anyone out there who gets stuck, give it a try. It really does work.

LOL, I just had a mental image of standing in Ladies Room doing this (the stalls are so small) and someone walking in....

I will def try this if I get stuck...

I posted it a few weeks ago it sounded crazy but it works, had to pass it along. Someone told me at a support group meeting about it.

It does not work everytime for me either, but when it does I am happy for the knowledge.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
