While you are in the process of waiting for your Lap Band try out several different kinds of Protein Shakes. I have found multiple Protein shakes that I like. There is the neatest site called bariatric pantry. You can choose several varieties of protein shakes. A friend of mine recommended nectar which is a whey Protein Shake in many different flavors. I tried my first whey shake was very tasty and the flavor was fuzzy navel....Within 4 minutes I started itching all over and my throat began to swell..I have alot of allergies and I guess this is just added to the list..Liquid Benedryl cured my itching and swelling...I still would endorse this particular protein because it gives you so much variety...BUT I am so thankful that I gave this particular brand a trial run...I would have hated to have came home from surgery and had this reaction...Best of luck to everyone.
