Guest Dan Posted December 10, 2005 Can anyone tell if there is a topical product that minimizes the surgery scars? This is the only thing that I do not like since people think I got shot when I take my shirt off. Dan 275/215/190 Dr. Kuri
StephanieRaye 0 Posted December 10, 2005 Mederma- You can buy it OTC in any drug store. The small tube will cost you around $20 though. It's good stuff.

MerryHearted 20 Posted December 11, 2005 If you go to the bandaid aisle in a pharmacy, they will have a few different kinds. I use ScarGel.
tztmama 0 Posted December 11, 2005 never considered it. I guess with the stretch marks for child-bearing i just figured now i would have a tic tac toe board.

Dan 275/215/190 Dr. Kuri I've had the best of luck with Scar Zone and plain old Vitamin E oil (although it's a little sticky). I can't even see my gall bladder scars anymore. Good luck to you. Parvathi 2 Posted December 11, 2005 I use a mix of lavendar and rose hip oils, rubbed on my scars once a day. It hasn't made them disappear, but they definitely look better than they did. Could all be in my mind though lol. If girls could walk around with their shirts off, I'd probably be more worried about it *g*
Jachut 487 Posted December 11, 2005 I was recommended Mederma too in the information I got from the hospital. I'm a bit vain, I will probably use it. My tummy us absolutely unmarked till now so the thought of the scars does upset me a bit.
donna_42 0 Posted December 11, 2005 Does it matter how long you've waited to use it? My surgery was in August ... wondering if it is too late now for me?
