Hi,

I had surgery about 3 weeks ago and now my wife says I smell different. Has anyone come across this? I told her its probably because I am not sweating out cheeseburgers and fatty foods anymore..... She is also pregnant so it might just be her hormones..but I do notice the smell of my breath has changed.....

Thanks,

Alex

If you are low carbing now, it makes sense that you would smell different. Plus pregnant noses are soooo sensitive!

I noticed that I started smelling like the protien drinks that I was drinking. I could sometimes smell the protien powder in my pores and my breath was awful the first 2 weeks but normal now.

Hi BardotheBulldog, if its not your wound which are smelling, its the toxins which smells. First make sure they are not from your wounds. I had such thing, smell was coming from an inflammation from my belly button (I had a single incision).

If your wounds healed well, then its the toxic smell. When people go on a juice diet or even raw food diet, till they clean their system, they stink. I did juicing for a month and nothing worked to stop the smell. I had even someone who I worked with told me that I stink so bad that she can not stand next to me. Its horrible but its for your good health. Look at your tongue, if its white (chalky) then its for sure the toxic smell.

It may be ketosis. There are many threads here about it. Try a bad breath search here.
