I'm sore but is not bad.. yesterday I was more sore and I had gas pain in my shoulder (still do a little) It just felt like I did a million sit ups. I didn't follow the resting rules though, I took a little nap when I got home Friday and yesterday but other then that I have been up and walking around. Even went to the store yesterday. My surgeon said that walking of course will help the gas go away faster but she said it will also make your tummy not as sore. I also am making sure I am taking my meds right at the 4 hours needed and not wait until I start to hurt. I think that made a difference too.

YAY! I bet you are soooo excited! Take care of yourself and get some rest after and then let us know how it goes! Congrats on losing the 11 pounds. What did you do to get it off? I am in that stage now, where I need to lose before surgery.

Lovemysgt, how did you do??

I am dying to hear.

I am banded tomorrow EEK!!!

I haven't had any surgery before (except my tonsils) so I have no idea what to expect.

I will post a recap as soon as I can, I love reading those.

Today is clear liquids...loving the bullion!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
