1Mary 0 Posted September 10, 2010 I am beyond frustrated! For months I watched my diet/exerscise, only lost 4 pounds. Then the pre-op diet 2 weeks on liquids lost 10, so I was down 14 pounds on suregry day. I went home same day and in the next morning I was up 12 pounds - it's the 11the day out, all liquids, I am exercising daily and am still12 pounds up from surgery day! When in the world does the weight come off? And now I'm actually getting hungry and don't have much resolve to diet - I'm about in tears... can anyone offer any advise for this time period? Well Mary I can only tell you what others have told me is that we're healing right now and shouldn't focus on weight loss. even though that's the whole reason we got wls. I know that you tend to gain just after surgery because of all the Fluid they put in you and your body just went through a tramatic time turning surgery so it's a given that you would gain a little. I started losing about 1lb a day when i was on liquids the 1st week after surgery so when i started mushy foods I gained a little back again. I have started to lose again now that I am 10 into my mushy phase and know that I will probably gain again when I eat regular food in the next 2 weeks. Basically at this point I'm not stressing about how much I lose or gain until I start getting my fills in October. I guess it's just normal to gain and lose during the first 6-8 weeks. now if you start gaining after getting fills then I would be concerned..... 04948749-FFAB-E84C-90A7-1D94AFDDA05E 1.03.
Mangofish 1 Posted September 10, 2010 What did your doctor tell you to expect after surgery and before your fill? Have you talked to him since surgery?

Mary, I was about 11 pounds down on surgery day, but I knew it was mostly Water. then when i went back for my one week check, I was the same 11 pounds down. I figured I probably regained a little Water weight and went back down. I'm hoping by 4 weeks, and my first fill, that I'm down more. Try not to worry too much! reverie 49 Posted September 11, 2010 Definitely Water weight. Give it time, it will come off. You just had a very drastic surgery and your body needs to heal. Stay off the scale and just remember your end goal. Allow your body to adjust to your band before you worry about losing. You will be dropping lbs soon, just wait.
