I am having terrible cramps. Is midol something that I can take? I can't seem to remember what my doctor said about midol.

My Dr.s only restriction was before surgery, no aspirin. Beyond that he said capsules go down easier than tablets, but if your meds are in tablet form, break them in half if you have problems swallowing them.

Midol has acetaminophen and caffeine plus a diuretic in it. I have not taken Midol but never have a problem with Tylenol. I used to take Advil for cramps but my doc said they were a no no until about 4 months out and then only the liquid gels. Well, I finally tried them last month for my cramps and I will NEVER take them again! I had upset/sour stomach for 2 days!

I guess it all depends on how it sits on your stomach. Can't hurt to call the doc/nurse.

According to Midol - for Relief of your Menstrual Symptoms, Midol has ibuprofen in it, which my surgeon and other surgeons have said is a no no post band.

I can't take ibuprofen, so I often take Aleve for my cramps. My doc had recommended that and it's Naproxen Sodium, which back when I was a teen and needed Anaprox for my cramps, that was what they game me - the Naproxen.

I would try aleve and then a warm rag over your abdomen when you get home.

I have really bad cramps when I get my period and I got mine about 3 days after my surgery and the pain was unbearable that I crushed two midols into pudding...bad bad very bad idea. It didn't taste like anything at first but then all of a sudden it burned my mouth and I threw it up

What helped me was the liquid pain killer you get after surgery. lortab. It took the pain away for about 12 hours...I took 2 doses and the pain was gone and I was loopy but happy that the pain was gone.
