Adelaide surgeons

Recommended Posts

Hi I am seriously considering having lap band surgery next year but, am still undecided on which surgeon. I actually hav worked with quite a few surgeons which is making the decision even harder!!! Sometimes ignorance is bliss!!!!!! I am leaning towards justin Bessell or Paul Anderson. Any feedback on any of the surgeons would be greatly appreciated, Thanks

I had my band done nearly 3 weeks ago by Prof Toouli at FPH. I was very pleased with everything. He was recommended to me several years ago by a girl i worked with.

I was very impressed by Dr Bessell and his team. Very professional

I was originally going to go with Dr Bessell but switched to Dr Lilian Kow, she is amazing, the entire team at Circle of Care is just inspirational. I have a follow up appointment tomorrow i am 15 months post surgery and with anything they are helpful.

I have had a few set backs but regardless the team is just wonderful. Im looking forward to the appointment tomorrow.

Good Luck with your choice.

Hi thanks all for your feedback! After some more research and chatting with some of my friends I have an appointment with Mr Leong in early November and will see how that all goes!

Thanks again and good luck to everyone on their journey!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
