What do you drink instead of coke?

Recommended Posts

I've always, always drank a diet coke first thing in the morning. Water just isn't good to me that early. I'm looking for a replacement but I still want something sugar free.

Do they make sugar free canned lemonade?

What about Crystal Light? I LIVE on it. I love the lemonade, fruit punch, and sunrise orange.

Coke was my thing too. I drink Minute Maid Light Lemonade. It is 5 calories and 2g total carbs but 0 sugars. (I don't get how that is but that's what the label says!!) I just can't get the Protein Drink or Water out so early.

As far as lemonade, Minute Maid Light in a can is good. Otherwise, I drink Crystal Light (multiple flavors), Water, Diet Ocean Spray juices (different flavors available), Powerade Zero.

I was a Diet Coke junkie for 25+ years. I wonder if some of the problems I've had over the years weren't related to all that crap in my system. No caffeine for me (other than in chocolate occasionally).

There are plenty of no-fizzy low calorie drinks out there. It's your opportunity to try something new! Go for it!

The Fuze Healthy Infusions - Slenderize - Tropical Punch, 10 calories for to whole bottle, NO sugar, Carbs, but taste great and is natural flavors/colors, and provides 100% of your daily Vitamin C. And it is clear for pre-op people! Yum Yum YUMM!

PS. I too LIVED on Diet Coke, gave it up a few weeks before my preop to get rid of the headaches early. I love this stuff!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
