Very happy with him and super happy with the staff at OCA Hospital in Monterrey. OCA is a state of the art facility and all of the staff there treated me like I was a guest in a five star hotel. highly recommended.

I used www.litenfree.com as well. The staff were wonderful. I had a blast and I made some really good friends especially with the patient coordinator Stephanie. She is the patient coordinator that sets up everything at Lite 'n Free. They can get you in super quick and the doctor was great as well. It is a good price and the hospital is so clean and the staff is always smiling. If you have any questions please email me, I will tell you my story. My email is molliebeth.smith@yahoo.com.

I had my band placed by Dr De La Garza 4 years ago. He was wonderful and I have done very well since.

My only issue is that he placed my port was higher than normal, it sits directly below my ribcage. Now that I have lost my weight, it protrudes quite far. I have tried to contact the Dr. via websites but haven't been able to contact him about a solution. Other than that everything else was great.

Hello There,

I don't mean to be rude, but I thought that assistants and doctors were not aloud to go online and solicit themselves like this. I know you are trying to help but this can be discouraging to people as well to know that the assitants and doctors are roaming around reading all of our stuff.

This is a site for banded people, or people looking to get banded. You are not supposed to be writing stuff like this, plus it is kind of confusing, what is obesityoff.com? We are all talking about Lite 'n Free, are you something different?

Anyways, I just wanted to put my point of view out there. I know that Dr. De la Garza is a really nice surgeon and I know that he works for www.litenfree.com as well. That is who I went through like I said above and I had an amazing time. I would have done nothing different.

If you have any questions feel free to email me molliebeth.smith@yahoo.com.

Dr. De La Gaza placed my band and I went directly through his office rather than using the hospital's program (LitenFree. I know Veronica very well and I can assure you she was simply trying to help. Since my surgery I have complete email and phone contact with her.

I had my surgery 7/17/07 and am down 56 lbs today. I also had my gall bladder removed at the same time and have had 0 complications. I like Dr. De La Garza so well that I fly back to him for my fills.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
