KINGSKID66 10 Posted December 9, 2005 Hey Everyone, I know most of you on this site are probably independently wealthy! However, $10,000 is a lot of money for me to come up with. Did anyone do anything creative to acquire the money to cover the cost of your surgery?

Dody 0 Posted December 9, 2005 I think 1800-Lapband provides help in financing. Hope that is the right phone #. Not sure of how it is done, as my insurance is going to cover mine. BTW I don't know of many independently wealthly people on here. I'm certainly not one of them. Good luck in your Quest for the belt.

Maggie63 0 Posted December 9, 2005 i got a AAA visa card with 1 year no interest. i put the whole thing on that and will pay it off this year so i do not have to interest. if you think you can pay if off in one year, excellent no interest option. m
Road Queen 0 Posted December 9, 2005 I put it on my WorldPerks visa (to get frequent flyer miles and time). The day I put it on was the day after cutoff for a monthly bill (21st of May). So the amount was due by July 12. On July 10, I refinanced my house and used the money to pay off the credit card. That did get me 50 days interest free money. Us accountants will be a little anal making sure we get good deals. Celeste
alatina 1 Posted December 9, 2005 I put airline tickets on CC and took the cost of surgery out of my savings-was saving it for something else but this was something I wanted and needed-so far so good I guess.
liannatx 897 Posted December 9, 2005 I took out a personal loan. I figure the interest is lower than putting it on my cc. But I would have done credit cards if that was the only option.

seehawksimms 0 Posted December 10, 2005 Home equity line of credit. I'm a loan officer so it was the easiest way without the high interest of credit cards.
CandySmooch 0 Posted December 12, 2005 i know someone who rented his house out for more than his house payments and moved back in with his parents to save the difference - took him a few years but he saved enough to get surgery!
