I am just starting my journey and I have UnitedHealthcare Choice Plus. I hope it is a simple as everyone here says. Hi there! I was banded a little over a week ago, and my process was the opposite of simple. I have GHI PPO and had to have 6 months of doc supervised weigh ins & surgical clearance from an array of specialists. I also had to meet with their nutritionist & attend a support group at their office. I hit some personal roadblocks along the way, some due to my lack of commitment to the process and some that were completely out of my control. When I attended my first educational seminar I thought hey, no big deal--I can do this. Then as each specialist required multiple visits I got discouraged. Needless to say I kept with it and am happy I didn't give up. I hope you have a seamless process, but if no----don;t give. Keep your eye on the prize! ~~M
Cocoabean 430 Posted September 5, 2010 You should be able to call your insurance or check your policy online to see if you have coverage. Most have their plan brochures online and the language is fairly plain if surgery is covered or not.
