feeling weird....

Recommended Posts

I was banded on August 31st and I have had a pretty easy recovery. Except for the fact when I was on my pain meds I woke up and ate some popcorn! I feel fine I was just a little bloated. Anyway, today I have a headache, and I just feel funny. I feel tingly, if that makes sense, and I swear I was having mild hot flashes. I know I may just be worrying about everything, I even looked up the symptoms of blood clots and I don't have any thank goodness! I know I am fine, the whole weird feeling thing has just freaked me out a bit! Anyone have any funny feelings like this?

i wonder if it might be a bit of Water retention? i get a 'hangover' type headache/fuzzy plus my skin feels too tight for my body if that makes any sense? keep an eye on yr urine colour. dehydration and water retention go hand in hand, tho this may seem contradictory.

Thanks! I called the doctor, his nurse thinks I need to drink some prune juice to see if that helps with the bloated feeling. She also told me to drink more milk which tasted like heaven! Hopefully this will help tonight!

I take Lortab for a bad back and what you are experiencing are some of the side effects of them. I have hot flashes, especially at night and sometimes tingle or itch. I dont think you have anything to worry about, I would check with your Dr. just to make sure. Congrats on your surgery I am still in the 6mo. waiting period.

Thanks Jeff2Ang, that makes me feel better! Hang in there, I had to wait about 6 months, it was hard but I did the assisted weight loss and lost 41lbs before surgery. It made such a difference!

Sounds like some left-over anesthesia side effects. I made my DD and nephew popcorn and pooped a piece in my mouth, I chewed it 1000 times.

Feel Better:smile2:

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
