I LOVE Syntrax nectar Protein. They have sooo many different flavor choices. I have had the strawberry which taste like strawberry milk and the french vanilla taste like a milk shake. You can find them at Vitamin Shoppe and its about $35 for a huge tub of powder. 24 grams of Protein per scoop. (I mix 2 scoops with 20 oz of skim milk) A great thing about Vitamin Shoppe is if you don't like the flavor they will return or exchange it no questions asked.

I am not a chocolate fan but premier has a really good one. It's a pre mixed drink so great to grab when your on the go. One shake is 30 grams of protien. You can buy the chocolate at costco or they have vanilla online. It is $24 for a case of 18.

You would be surprised on how satisfying those Protein shakes are. I am on my pre op liquid diet now and am not starving like I thought I would be.

Aw thank you very much for the reply! I actually looked for a Vitamin shoppe here in Dover but we couldn't find one so I had to get the GNC brand Meal Replacement shake. Which is really good too!

Good luck with everything :)

I was done on 8/26 and everything went fine. I did have some gas pain though but it was gone within a week. Doing great now. Pre-op make sure you are getting strong for surgery and after surgery. I was told to do Protein Drinks at least 60-100 grams of Protein per day and take 500 mg. Vitamin C twice daily. Good luck:thumbup:

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
