Jinky 0 Posted September 4, 2010 This is my first blog post as a Bandster! I am 8 days post-op. I think I am adjusting pretty well. I cheated a lil’ today though, I had a small slice of cheesecake (damn it went down easy). I started felling hunger again yesterday; I only got 1 week of no hunger L I thought that a diet of sugar free pudding, Yoplait ® light and Soup broth would result in dramatic weight loss, but I am only down 4 pounds since my pre-op appointment. My highest weight was 300 pounds and I weighed in at 284.7 today (after a little over 3 weeks of modified eating). I know I should be happy with these numbers but part of me just wants a little more. Hopefully in a few weeks I can begin exercising and speed it along. I’m a teacher and return to work Tuesday. I am a little afraid of how I am going to get away with my full liquids in front of others. I only told my 2 closest friends at work. I’m keeping this a little to myself this until I am sure I can do it. My own expectations are enough for me to deal with. I’m not really interested in other peoples. I began this journey over 2 years ago. I encountered some obstacles along the way, and can hardly believe I’m now banded! Until we meet again~~~M
rockstar 0 Posted September 4, 2010 Congrats on being banded! I'm very jealous and wish you the best of luck. Your weight loss so far is great! I know what you mean though... don't you wish you could just be 50lbs lighter all ready?? I know I do ... and I'm not banded. If people start asking why you're only drinking broth just tell them you're on "another one of those diets!" Seems like that would be a conversation ender. Anyway, congrats and good luck!!
jkangasrdh 0 Posted September 4, 2010 I just got banded 8/26! I also go back to work on Tues. Everyone I work with knows I had it done so no need to hide anything. Good luck with your first day back. I am starting to get really hungry. Haven't lost much since surgery. About 5 pounds. My Dr. said I may gain some now that I am introducing smooshies. I hope not! Congrats on being banded! Wow, what a coincidence! What do you do? I feel better standng up, so I think returning to work will be just fine. I might even make a point of doing the 3 filghts of stairs whenever I'm free (baby steps, ya know?) If I drink more Water I'm less hungry, but then I'm up all night peeing. Thanks for the welcome and good luck to you also!
